The former manor house of the former agricultural estate on the grounds of the centuries-old Burchardi monastery in Halberstadt is now known as the Cage House. In addition to the two offices of the John Cage Organ Foundation Halberstadt, the house also has rooms and halls that offer space for exhibitions, performances and seminars. John Cage, his work, his composition organ2/aslsp and its 639 years of performance in the neighboring Burchardi Church form the thematic core of the John Cage Organ Art Project Halberstadt. The cage-award and cage-workshop also take place in the Cage House.

Das ehemalige Gutshaus der früheren landwirtschaftlichen Hofanlage auf dem Gelände des jahrhundertealten Burchardi-Klosters in Halberstadt trägt heute den Namen Cage-Haus. Im Haus gibt es neben den beiden Büroräumen der John-Cage-Orgel-Stiftung Halberstadt auch Räume und Säle, die Platz für Ausstellungen, Aufführungen und Seminare bieten. John Cage, sein Werk, seine Komposition organ²/aslsp und deren 639 Jahre währende Aufführung in der benachbarten Burchardi-Kirche bilden den thematischen Kern des John-Cage-Orgel-Kunst-Proket Halberstadt. Im Cage-Haus finden auch cage-award und cage-workshop statt.

The performance venue for ORGAN²/ASLSP is in the Burchardi Church, right next to the Cage House. Thus, Halberstadt's musical history also includes a very "crazy" project, namely a 639-year realization of the organ piece ORGAN²/ASLSP by the American composer and avant-garde artist John Cage (1912-1992). This project is "crazy" in the sense of "not in its usual place" because it does not fulfill the conventional expectations of music lovers of a concert, such as melody and rhythm or being able to hear it in its entirety.

Der Aufführungsort von ORGAN²/ASLSP, befindet sich in der Burchardi-Kirche, direkt neben dem Cage-Haus. So gehört zur Musikgeschichte Halberstadts auch ein ganz „ver-rücktes“ Projekt, nämlich eine auf 639 Jahre angelegte Realisierung des Orgelstückes ORGAN²/ASLSP des amerikanischen Komponisten und Avantgardekünstlers John Cage (1912-1992). Ver-rückt in der Bedeutung „nicht am üblichen Platz befindlich“ ist dieses Projekt, weil es die herkömmlichen Erwartungen der Musikfreunde an ein Konzert, etwa an Melodie und Rhythmus oder auch es im Ganzen zu Ende hören zu können, nicht erfüllt.

The entire Burchardi monastery, the location of the cage-academy, with its exhibitions, performances, competitions and master classes, is very well suited for creative meetings and collaborative work with its special mood. An almost familiar atmosphere is quickly created, which makes it easy to make new artistic contacts.

Das gesamte Burchardi-Kloster, Standort der cage-academy, mit Ausstellungen, Aufführungen und Wettbewerben und Meisterkursen, ist mit seiner besonderen Stimmung sehr gut für creative Treffen und gemeinsames Arbeiten geeignet. Es entsteht sehr schnell eine nahezu familiäre Atmosphäre, die es leicht macht, neue künstlerische Kontakte zu knüpfen.
